These are the smallest sizes of hats requested by the charity Cherished Gowns for Angel Babies UK, who provide clothing for babies who are born sleeping or who pass away shortly after birth, for their final farewell.
The pattern is very
simple, can be made in minutes and uses only a small amount of yarn.
You will need:
Soft DK yarn
4mm hook
To make 2 sizes of hats:
4"
circumference 2.5" height
4,5" circumference 3" height

Ch2 at beginning of rounds does not count as a stitch. UK stitch
terminology used.
1. ch2, 8(9) tr in 1st chain, join with a ss to 1st tr. (8(9) sts)
2. ch2, 2 tr in same st, 2 tr in each remaining st
around, join with a ss to 1st
tr. (16(18) sts)
3. ch2, 1 tr in same st, 1 tr in each remaining st
around, join with a ss to 1st tr.
(16(18) sts)
4. Repeat round 3 4(5) more times, ideally ending
with an invisible join.
